Street Chic: Lavender Envy! + #WNHS18 Recap

Hello Dolls and Gents!

Another FanTabulos weekend this was. I truly enjoyed the weather and being able to get out and catch some sun rays. If you are a ATLien then you know the weather here has been Crazy! Well I guess you can say the saying is true April showers brings May Flowers.

I had the opportunity to attend Taliah Waajid : World National Hair Show and what a beautiful event! I'm truly ashamed to say this was my first attendance. There were a array of nationalities, brands, style and beauty influencers. Not only was the event lovely there were workshops that were of interest. 

Personal Stylist Melodie Stewart  of The Style Klazit  taught a segment on All Things Thrifted (Fly on a Dime). Must I say this was a enjoyable experience. Melodie gave tips on from where to shop, what you should wear (thrift uniform), days to shop, item inspection, to set a budget and many more helpful nuggets. 

One of my favorite topics were closet staples. Closet staples are your must have wardrobe needs. She touched on:

Outerwear: Denim Jacket, Black Blazer and Leather Jacket. 

Tops: White button-up, White T-Shirt, Chambray shirt and Printed tops

Dress: Little Black Dress, Shirt dress and Formal Dress

Shoes: Flats (my new faves), Sneaker and Pumps

Jewelry & Accessories: Everyday handbag, Going out handbags, Scarf, Sunglasses, Statement Necklace (my personal favorite) rings, bracelet, watch etc.

Let's just say I was convinced by the time I left the workshop, I CAN be Fly on a Dime! Not like I wasn't before walking in the door but reassurance is everything.  The entire time I was on the edge of my seat. When you have a passion for fashion and can do it on a dime why not? You did that Melodie!

 After the segment... Everyone wanted more. Just a snip of Melodie getting to know her Intagram followers.

Lastly let's get into the shopping experience! There were tons of vendors and I had the opportunity to purchase from the brands Creme of Nature, Jane Carter Solution, Eco Co, Afrocentric Network, Vintage Keyes and many more. My eyes were really big and I had to get some self control real quick! If you attended you were sure to part with something. Never the less I am 100% sure I will be in attendance next year! Tapping fingers... Ha!

Take a look at this ensemble... I have been crushing the pastel Lavender for some time now. After browsing many sites I came up with Anka from Shoedazzle. This bootie is fitted and fashionable in every way! Not to mention this sock bootie is the style of the season. Dolls this beauty sold out quick but there are more colors to choose from. I am sure they will restock.

I couldn't just wear any get up with this look. Distressed denim for sure and the right statement blouse.
This Exaggerated Lantern Sleeve Tied Neck Striped Blouse is LYFE! You can only imagine how much wear I will get out of this beauty. Another score from Shein!

Completing this look with a studded cross-body handbag that grabbed my attention from Justfab. I knew I couldn't go wrong with pairing it. I'm normally not a cross-body girl but it was perfect for the World National Hair Show. Small, cute and chic for the occasion!
